Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico

You are responsible for providing specialized infusion therapies and professional nursing services to patients and caregivers at home or in alternate settings. The Nursing Supervisor is also responsible for supervising daily nursing activities and ensures quality patient care and clinical competency Works closely with our patients, maintaining the specialization in therapy patient management.

Primary Responsibilities/ Expected Contributions

  • Provides direct and indirect skilled nursing care to patients based on a modified primary nursing approach. Such provision of care includes, but is not limited to:
 Introductory call to the patient
 Patient assessment, clinical and environmental
 Patient and caregiver teaching
 Coordination of related services
 Development and revision of the plan of care
 Skilled nursing care
 Implementation of physician ! orders
 Monitoring of patient response
 Infectio! n Tracking
 Response to emergency patient needs
 Psycho social support
  • Works with Nurse Manager to select, train, develop and motivate a highly skilled professional and allied staff
  • Completes supervisory visits and annually competency check off for all nursing staff.
  • Supervises the day to day work of the nursing department; including, SOC Orders, ADEs, Nursing Order POTs, Nursing D/C Summaries, Nurse Data Base, and the supplies for new patients and arranges for replacement of back up nursing supplies
  • Adheres to all Company Policies, Procedures, and Standards of Conduct covered during initial orientation and referenced in branch handbooks, guides and manuals
  • Attends mandatory annual in-services that are required by current position held and assures compliance of nursing staff.
  • Reports to the appropriate manager(s) any known or suspected violations of policies and procedures, regulations or standards of c! onduct
  • Develops communication and performance improvement systems to assure positive interagency relationships
  • Supervises receipt, evaluation, acceptance and execution for the initial patient intake process to assure that patient verification, assessment, teaching and the ongoing scheduling of nursing service occurs in a timely appropriate manner
  • Supervises the completion of all patient related documentation are accurately completed, submitted and/or filed in a timely manner, according to internal and external regulatory requirements and in support of billing process
  • Works closely with the Nurse Manager to assess, plan, develop, implement and evaluate clinical and administrative policies, procedures, programs and systems
  • Supports the Nurse Manager with conducting regular staff meetings and with staff communication.
  • Maintains Nursing Tables in Database with accurate and up to date information.

Qualifications:
Associate’s Degree in Nursing, Diploma in nursing or equivalent and a minimum of three years of current experience in a specialty involving infusion therapy patient assessment skills; venous access skills, and emergency patient care. Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. Must be able to assume a flexible schedule.
Expert knowledge of community health/home healthcare supervision, governmental home health regulations and Medicare services required. CPR certification required.
