Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members and provide physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families ensuring understanding of respiratory disease process and home care to support discharge. Provide clinical leadership for other staff and assume relief charge duties when designated. Serve as a role model to promote the SRMC Values, a positive work environment and efficient, quality patient care.
Ensure adherence to Hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Patient care assignment may include neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric age groups. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION: Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy (nationally accredited) LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner in State of New! Mexico without restrictions or limitations Registered Respira! tory Therapist credentials from the National Board for Respiratory Care CPR Certification or must obtain within 30 calendar days of date of position ACLS Certification or must obtain within 6 months of date of position PALS Certification or must obtain within 6 months of date of position IV Certification within 6 months of date of position ABG competency completion within 6 months of date of position Completion of hospital required competencies PREFERRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION & EDUCATION: Maintaining NBRC certification EDUCATION: B.S. in Respiratory Care or related filed or enrolled by 2015 PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: * 1â€"2 years in specialty care unit * Bilingual English/Spanish * Bilingual English/Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Clinical Skills, Bedside Manner, Infection Control, Physiological Knowledge, Medication Administration, Medical Teamwork, Multitasking, Listening, Verbal Communication, Health Promotion and Mainten! ance
