Automotive Service Manager opportunity available for a growing domestic dealership just outside of Knoxville, TN. This is with a stable dealer group that recently expanded their Service Department and the dealer is looking for an experienced Service Manager who can bring the department to the next level. The successful candidate will have a proven track record as a Service Manager / Service Director in a domestic dealership and will be eager to grow the business and capitalize on the larger, more modern, facility. This person will report directly to the Dealer Principal and will not be micromanaged. Seriously relocation candidates with the relevant experience will be considered.

The Service Manager will be responsible to oversee the daily operations of the service department, ensuring that customer needs are met and that the service team provides quality workmanship in a timely and efficient manner. The successful candidate will be a hands-on Service Manager that actively strives to further grow their department and develop their team. It is important that the Service Manager hired is a clear communicator, process driven, and great mentor to their team. Strong CSI is a must as the dealer has a great reputation to uphold and cares about providing an excellent customer experience to every customer who comes into the dealership. Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the service department
  • Create and implement processes to increase efficiency, customer satisfaction, and profitability in the service department.
  • Set a clear vision for the Service Department to achieve targeted performance goals.
  • Hold daily and weekly meetings for the department, as well as 1:1s with individual team members.
  • Ensure the department has green CSI through building and maintaining relationships with customers and ensuring that they receive high-quality service.
  • Oversee the Service Advisors and ensure that ROs are written up and closed out in a timely manner.
  • Manage and supervise the service technicians, ensuring that all work is performed to the highest standards and within established timelines.
  • Provide training to service technicians to help them improve their skills and knowledge.
  • Recruit, interview and train service staff; handle performance reviews
  • Create an exceptional customer experience to drive customer loyalty
  • Develop and manage budgets and operating plans for the service department, monitoring performance and making adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge about the latest automotive technologies and stay current on industry trends.
  • Collaborate with other departments within the dealership to ensure seamless and efficient operations.
  • Monitor/control all warranty activity to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
  • Ensure the Service area is customer-customer ready with proper displays and information
  • Other duties as required

Compensation:

  • Compensation will be in the $140,000 - $150,000 range with room for growth.
  • Full benefits package available

Schedule:

  • 5 day work week, Monday - Friday. The service department is open on Saturdays but the dealer is fine with the Service Manager / Service Director working a Monday - Friday schedule with advisors covering the Saturday shift.
