EMT Basic (Evening Shift)

Location: Rio Rancho, New Mexico

Provide superior quality patient care during inter-facility critical care treatment and transportation for critically injured and/or ill patients to pre-de! termined destinations as requested by sending facility and physician. Safely drive the ambulance and assist with duties that fall within the scope of practice. Assist with basic Emergency Room Technician duties at the direction of the Charge RN when not on a patient transport. Serve as a role model to promote the SRMC Values, a positive work environment and efficient, quality patient care. Will report compliance or equipment issues to department director. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. Patient care assignments may include neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric age groups

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Graduated from a technical or vocational program with EMT-B

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES:
NM EMT-B with no restrictions or limitations

Current Class E Drivers License

Current CPR

EXPERIENCE:!
2 years as an EMT-B

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:!
3-4 years pre-hospital experience

Bilingual English/Spanish

Bilingual English/Keres, Tewa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Teamwork, verbal communication skills, computer skills, and customer service. Able to identify clinical situations beyond scope and notify nurse and physician.
