Post by Jobing - RNâ€" Special Procedures (Surgical Services) Location: Sandoval Regional Medical Center Job Code: 253! # of Openings: 1 Description Special Procedures Nurse Promote and restore patients' health through direct nursing care to assigned patients within the nursing process; collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; provide physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families; and supervise assigned team members. Provide clinical leadership to other staff and assume relief charge duties when designated and serve as a clinical resource for staff. Serve as a role model to promote a positive work environment and quality patient care while utilizing SRMC Values. Ensure that patient care falls within the SCIP criteria.
Assist with breaks and notify anesthesia and surgeon of change in patient’s condition with close monitoring of hemodynamic stability. Inform families of patient status and of expected course of care, and encourage questions as needed. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. Patient care a! ssignment may include neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult an! d geriatric age groups.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION: Nursing program (nationally accredited) graduate PREFERRED EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree of Science in Nursing, or enrolls by 2015 LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in State of New Mexico or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by State of New Mexico without restrictions or limitations RN MATRIX â€" Complete and maintain unit/clinic based required certifications and competencies as listed in the department expectations/and or the unit/clinic education matrix IV Certification CPR Certification or must obtain within 30 calendar days of date of position ACLS Certification or must obtain within 6 months of date of position PALS Certification or must obtain within 6 months of date of position PREFERRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Nationally certified in area of specialty, within two years of date of hire KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Clinical skills, bedside manner, infectio! n control, nursing skills, physiological knowledge, medication administration, medical teamwork, multiâ€"tasking, listening, verbal communication, and health promotion and maintenance
