Skills: M.D. with Board eligibility or certification in Pediatrics. State of New Mexico Medical License and at leas! t one year of internship required.
Knowledge: Requires detailed knowledge of pediatrics in terms of theories and practices to serve as the resource or educator to other practitioners in the medical field. This
staff member must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of patients served.
Abilities: Mental Power: Ability to make decisions that require significant analysis and investigation with solutions requiring significant original thinking.
Mental Power: Ability to determine appropriate courses of action in more complex situations that may not be addressed by existing policies, procedures or protocols. Decisions
include such matters as changes in staffing levels, order in which work is done, and application of established procedures.
Physical Power: Walks, sits, stands, arm/wrist/hand movement, lifts.
Primary Job Functions
- Make all professi! onal medical judgments in the care of patients seen.
- ! Manage the physician/patient relationship.
- Participate in system wide health management initiatives.
- Provide input into the practice site's financial, clinical, and service quality performance; budget; capital plan; and personnel issues.
- Assist in the development and implementation of clinical and service standards.
- Receive and resolve patient complaints.
- Participate in the recruitment and replacement of other providers.
- Consults with and advises other providers regarding optimal and cost-effective treatment of pediatric patients.
- Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, literature review, inservices, and workshops.
- Performs other functions as required.
