- Full-Time Locums, 8am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.
In patient 12 bed unit.
Age range: 6 to 12.
Child Psychiatrist will be part of a treatment team.
Estimated duration of position is 6 months.
No part-time will be considered.
Clinic is considered an intermediate care facility which means they get referrals from acute hospitals. The average length of stay is 110 days. They serve very ill children who cannot be stabilized in a short term setting. They work very closely with referral a! gents and the families.
The psychiatrist is the clini! cal lead but is assisted by two therapists who can help carry out the treatment. They have school in house and a full complement of recreation and occupational therapy. They also have two pediatricians. The psychiatrist would usually join some individual and family sessions at their discretion. They do meet with the child and family for the initial assessment and as often as needed during the week. They have security and locks on all entrance doors and we take safety for all seriously.
There is a meeting of the treatment team with nursing every weekday morning and a treatment planning meeting once a week. Family and individual sessions are scheduled with the therapists and the MD. The Medical Staff Organization also has meetings monthly.
