Position is either full or part-time, you tell us what works for you and is a work from home opportunity (as long as you live within an hour's drive of Toledo and can train in the office. What are we looking for in you? First, a HUGE sense of humor! This isn't a library or a bank - we have some serious fun here as that's part of why we are just so successful!!
You're going to need that humor when dealing with drivers all night long! At night is when they're looking for someone to talk to and you're going to be it! Plan on keeping something caffeinated near you to to keep you awake while listening to story after story. Secondly you're going to be their "problem-solver", so you're going to need to be able to think quickly and effectively. Breakdowns? You'll handle those. Accidents & incidents? You'll handle those too. You'll be the front-line for anything that can and will go wrong at nighttime. Thirdly, you're going to need to be able to type with more than one finger, and actually be comfortable operating something more than a typewriter with a carriage return.
Seriously though, we would like you to have the ability to:
- Remain on task and focused while working remotely
- Be diplomatic, professional, friendly and courteous to both customers and drivers
- Problem solve and make solid decisions
There are way too many responsibilities of this position to list, but here are some of the more prominent ones!
- Negotiate freight rates, provide bids to customers and then negotiate freight rates with drivers
- Enter loads with information into TMS system correctly and completely
- Dispatch equipment, track loads, and assist drivers with any issues during course of load
- Handle any/all customer calls, process inquiries, providing superior customer service
Again, INCLUDING a HUGE sense of humor and an award-winning personality, here is a little snip of what we would like to see regarding your background:
- Prior dispatch experience would be fantastic, but isn't required
- Any experience in the transportation industry is also a plus
- Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience
- Ability to compose emails, utilize tools such as spell-check and communicate clearly verbally
- Solid computer experience is required including experience with web browsers such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox.
- Must be able to type, be able to navigate the internet, and familiar with Microsoft Office Products
