Position Overview

Texas Virtual Schools, a program of Stellar Virtual, is seeking a passionate and experienced Student Success Advisor to join our team. As a valued member of the Student Success Advisor Team at Texas Virtual Schools, the Student Success Advisor plays a crucial role in supporting students. Reporting to the Student Success Advisor Lead, this position is instrumental in fostering a collaborative and reflective learning culture.


Essential Position Functions

  • Fosters a culture of collaboration among colleagues within the virtual workplace, encouraging open communication and reflective learning.
  • Offers organizational support to help students succeed in their coursework, with a focus on enhancing writing, critical thinking, teamwork, organization, and reading skills.
  • Oversees the multi-step process of student registration, onboarding, and ongoing support throughout their schooling.
  • Identifies students who may not meet the required study hours or are facing challenges in progressing through the curriculum, providing the necessary interventions and support.
  • Facilitates the onboarding process for both parents and students, ensuring they are familiar with the technology and resources available.
  • Enables the TEXT OPT-IN feature for parents and students to facilitate communication and engagement.
  • Ensures that assessments maintain high standards of rigor and alignment to performance benchmarks.
  • Ensures students are reading on grade level and that those in need of reading support receive appropriate assignments and assistance.
  • Offers enriching experiences and team-building activities for students during the summer.
  • Ensures that Learning Coaches are committed to supporting their child's current and future education.
  • Coordinates and collaborates with the teaching staff in the development of Career Projects, promoting genuine career exploration across all grade levels.
  • With the aim of ensuring all stakeholders share a common understanding, the Student Success Advisor helps articulate the school's mission and vision, enabling cooperative efforts to achieve desired results.

Education & Certification Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required;
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and other web-based tools.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Successful completion of a required background check.
