Post by Jobing - Position SummaryThe University of New Mexico School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics is recruiting a fullâ€"time faculty position as a General Pediatrician in the Clinician Educator track with our Young Children's Health Center. The Young Children's Health Center is a communityâ€"based pediatric clinic that provides comprehensive health services to families with children from birth to young adulthood residing in the southeast heights of Albuquerque. Many families in this area are challenged by complexities associated with extreme poverty and a sense of isolation. In order to better serve these families the staff is bilingual.

Special components to this clinic include home visitation, behavioral health services, case management, outreach activities to schools and the local community center and several other neighboring activities. Networking and collaboration with other community programs is a priority and strength of YCHC. Children with special health care needs, (including a large proportion of deaf children) and their families are a special interest to this program. Responsibilities will include maintaining a general pediatric practice treating infants, children, adolescents and young adults.

Applicants must be able to see patients in an ethnicallyâ€"diverse environment, work with a multiâ€"disciplinary team while supervising students. Teaching consists of precepting medical students, resident physicians in their continuity clinics, and participation in tutorialâ€"based medical student education.
