Post by Jobing - Charge Nurseâ€" InPatient (Pool) Location: Sandoval Regional Medical Center Job Code: 339 # of Openings: 3 Description CHARGE NURSE Work under the general ! nursing process while using independent judgment to assign nurses, technicians and nursing care to assigned patients. Designate shift and schedule assignments, call in staff, send staff home and monitor attendance. Provide clinical leadership for nursing and technician staff. Ensure adequate staff to meet patient census.
Supervise staff and patient care delivery on designated shift, and serve as a clinical resource for staff. Complete staff schedules, disciplinary action, rounding, hiring, and termination. Meet with Unit Director to report any incidents, behavioral issues, and staff concerns. Serve as a role model to promote the SRMC Values, a positive work environment and efficient, quality patient care.
Ensure adherence to Hospitalsand departmental policies and procedures. Patient care assignment may include neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric age groups. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION: Nursing program (nationally accredited) graduat! e PREFERRED EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree of Science in Nursing! , or completed by 2015 EXPERIENCE: Two ( 2) years work experience in clinical area LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: RN MATRIX â€" Complete and maintain unit/clinic based required certifications and competencies as listed in the department expectations/and or the unit/clinic education matrix Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in State of New Mexico or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by State of New Mexico without restrictions or limitations IV Certification within 6 months of date of position CPR Certification or must obtain within 30 calendar days of date of position ACLS Certification or must obtain within 6 months of date of position for Telemetry care PREFERRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Nationally certified in area of specialty, within two years of date of hire; TNCC PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Bilingual English/Spanish; Bilingual English/Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES Physiological knowledge Knowledge in bedside manner Knowledge in infectio! n control Clinical nursing skills Skill in administering medication Multitasking skills Communication skills Medical teamwork abilities Health promotion and maintenance abilities
