Position Summary:
The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center, affiliated with the Children's Hospital of New Mexico, is seeking a Pediatric Cardiologist at the Assistant/Associate Professor level to join our dedicated team seeking a fourth cardiologist. Salary and track will be commensurate with training and experience. Candidates must be board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Cardiology and interested in practicing in a clinical/academic climate. A good balance of clinical and teaching experience awaits the successful candidate in this tertiary care pediatric practice. While each cardiologist has an area of interest, we all practice general pediatric cardiology and have strong teaching skills. Opportunitie! s for growth in cardiac imaging, electrophysiology, and exerci! se stress testing are available.
The UNM Children's Hospital combines multi-disciplinary care with academics in a family-oriented setting. Although opportunities for basic research are available, this position is best suited for someone interested in pursuing clinical problems.
The UNM Health Sciences Center (HSC) is the only academic medical center in the state. The UNM Children's Hospital, located within the new Barbara & Bill Richardson Pavilion, is a 143 bed tertiary state-of-the-art Children's Hospital containing a Pediatric Surgery Suite, Level III NICU, PICU, Level I Trauma Center, Oncology Center, Carrie Tingley Rehabilitation Hospital, and Child Life Center.
The UNM Health Sciences Center (HSC) is an integrated, academic system offering 75 medical and surgical specialties and 24 residency and fellowship programs including Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Surgery and the surgical subspecialties. The pediatric res! idency program has 39 positions and has consistently attracted excellent students from around the country. Employing over 900 physicians, UNM HSC offers excellent salary and benefits, including full medical malpractice coverage.
