Position Summary:
The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Gastroenterology, at the University Of New Mexico Children's Hospital is recruiting a fifth Pediatric Gastroenterologist. This will be a full-time Assistant/Associate Professor in the open track; rank is dependent on qualifications and experience.
We see the whole gamut of pediatric GI and hepatology ranging from the most common clinical issues (i.e. abdominal pain, constipation--the bread and butter) to the most complex; from liver failure to short gut syndromes, severe dysmotilities, etc. We currently have three full-time and one part-time physician, a PA, three RN's, a nutritionist, and an MA. Our outpatient practice is at two sites and our inpatient practice is located at our new Pavilion completed in 2007. We are ! currently designing a new Ambulatory Building (which will comb! ine the entire Children's Hospital Programs into one site) which will be completed in 2013. We have dedicated Pediatric OR block time with anesthesia support for endoscopies. We perform the full breadth of GI procedures ranging from routine endoscopies, capsule endoscopy, impedance pH, colonic motility, PEG's, etc. Opportunities for research are available.
Our practice is part of a the University of New Mexico Children's Hospital which is a 160 bed hospital and we have the full range of specialties represented in Pediatrics as well as Pediatric surgical support including neurosurgery, orthopedics, urology, Ophthalmology, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Candidate must be board certified or board eligible in pediatric gastroenterology.
- Must be able to obtain a New Mexico medical license
- Authorized to work in the US
- Experience with clinical gastroenterology practice
- Experience teaching residents and medical students
