POSITION TITLE: Physician Assistant - Family Practice/Family Nurse Practitioner
POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of a physician, is responsible for obtaining an accurate medical history, performing appropriate examinations, ordering laboratory tests, includes prescribing medication. All duties are performed under the supervisor of the Physician at a large outpatient pediatric practice.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Graduation from a program for physician assistants approved by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) of the American Medical Association
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: New Mexico license as a Physician Assistant. BLS Certification required; ACLS Certification preferred.
SKILLS: Exhibits strong or! ganizational skills; excellent verbal, written and interperson! al communication skills required; ability to work collaboratively with others; ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English required, ability to speak Spanish preferred. Ability to work at a rapid pace under stressful conditions.
EXPERIENCE: Two years of experience post-graduation in a family practice out-patient setting preferred.
