Post by Jobing - ER Tech (Pool) Location: Sandoval Regional Medical Center Job Code: 440 # of Openings: 1 Description ER Tech Assist in the nursing care of patients in the Emergency D! epartment. Provide basic patient care; take and record vital signs to include temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height, blood pressure and intakeâ€"output measurements. Provide oxygen therapy, I.V. setup, catheterization, gastric lavage, suctioning, apply cardiac monitor.
Assist with fracture reductions, cast or splint application. Operates electrocardiographic machine and gives exam to appropriate attending. Proficient in computer systems perform a variety of clerical duties in support of assigned area to include data entry, answer phones, enter orders, assist as needed, and maintain files and other related duties. Observe patient to ensure their safety and wellâ€"being; report observations to Charge Nurse or appropriate designee assist with activities of daily living (ADL): meals, ambulation, hygiene, linen change and toileting as instructed.
Serve as a role model to promote the SRMC Values, a positive work environment and efficient, quality patie! nt care. Will report compliance or equipment issues to departm! ent director. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. Patient care assignments may include neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric age groups.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: Previous work experience in an Emergency Room environment and/or certification of military training equivalent to documented Emergency Medical Training. EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED equivalent PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 2 years ER experience and or 2 years preâ€"hospital experience with an EMTâ€"I Preferred EMTâ€" B or Medical Assistant Bilingual English/Spanish Bilingual English/Keres, Tewa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: CPR Certification or must obtain within 30 calendar days of date of position Teamwork, verbal communication skills, computer skills, and customer service. Able to identify clinical situations beyond scope and notify nurse and physician.
