Post by Jobing - Certified Pharmacy Tech (Pool) Location: Sandoval Regional Medical Center Job Code: 231 # of Openings: 1 Description Certified Pharmacy Tech Promote and restore patients' health as a pharmacy technician in a hospital setting. Perform a variety of pharmacy technician duties to include filling routine prescription orders, prepackaging pharmaceuticals and other related duties. Ensure adherence to Hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Serve as a role model to promote the SRMC Values, a positive work environment and efficient, quality patient care.
Patient care assignment may include neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED equivalent Graduate from an accredited Pharmacy Tech program EXPERIENCE: 1/2 year (6 months) related experience LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Certified Pharmacy Technician in State of New Mexico without limitations or restrictions PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Bilingual English/Spanish Bilingual English/Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Enter and fill prescriptions from bulk unit; fill bottles, capsules and other package forms with measured amounts of medication according to prescription and under the supervision of a pharmacist. Type prescription information to include identification and medication usage and assemble labels, containers and medication for pharmacist approval. Weigh, measure and mix ingredients; compound and prepare medication, emulsions, suspensions, liquids, powders and ointments by using graduates, balance, mortar, pestle and funnels; maintain logs to include narcotic inventory and other controlled substance records; and maintain records on prescriptions dispensed.
